More than 1,4 million Cambodians died during the regime of The Khmer Rouge from 1975 to 1979. In 2008 Pol Pots close ally, and Khmer Rouge head of state, Khieu Samphan is facing charges from Cambodia’s genocide tribunal. The filmmakers followed Khieu Samphan for 18 months, searching for answers to the question of why and what happened during those fateful years.
The film premiered at The Gothenburg Film Festival, 2010.
